CFA @Carmeltown Football Cup 2019

I created this video two weeks courtesy of the parents who have been very supportive about CFA's blog. I've been holding back in posting and sharing this video because I wanted to have the official results of the 6th Carmeltown Football Cup.

But I couldn't wait any longer. So here it is, a compilation of photos and videos of the Cavite Football Academy  Teams  for Carmeltown Football Cup:

You may visit my Youtube chanel at The Brown Man Diary for more football, basketball and chess videos I made.

CFA U11 Team, Champions at the Marine Corps Football Festival 2019

Cavite Football Academy (CFA) Team U11 are the champions in the recently-held Marine Corps Football Festival at the Philippine Army Football Field. The one-day festival attracted several teams and clubs from around Metro Manila and different provinces.

CFA sent five teams, one team for the Under 15 category, and two for both U13 and  U11 categories.

U11 team won the championship while Basti Luna, one of its strikers, bags the Most Valuable Player award.U13 team places 1st runner-up while U15 team places 3rd in their group elimination, missing out the semi-finals round.

Congratulations to all the players, coaches and parents who have supported their kids' endeavors in sports.

Let me share this one, a compilation of photos and videos from the festival. All photos and videos were used with permission from the owners, mostly parents of the CFA players.

Once again, congratulations CFA!

Philippine Football in One Weekend

The past weekend showed us how volatile life can be. One big news after another came in thru my social media accounts. Here they are, one by one.

CORRECTION CORRECTION CORRECTION CORRECTION

And with the win, DLSU will be playing in the Semi-Finals (FINAL FOUR) against the defending champion, University of the Philippines.

My former student, Xavi Zubiri, scores the lone goal in the UAAP Men's Football Q'FINALS encounter against Far Eastern University.

My news feed was flooded with #football #dlsu #finalfour and so I checked for any videos online and here's what I found:

===============================================

The weekend games at Speed Regalo Youth Football League continues at the Alabang Country Club. Visit these links to get the updates of standings for each age groups:

Team Standings: U7, U9, U11, U13, U15 and U17.

The Youth Football League, on its third year, has become, and remains to be, the elite youth league in the country. It won't be surprising for UAAP and NCAA teams to "fish out" players from here. Divisions U15 and U17 are the feeder age groups for them.

Every weekend, when I set foot at the ACC grounds, I am in awe of the relevance of the league to the grassroots development of football in the country. Always!

News from 62nd Edition of DEPED Palarong Pambansa:

National Capital Region are the over-all champions with 213 Gold medals, followed at second by Region 4A- CALABARZON with 188 Gold medals and on third is the Region 6 - Western Visayas with 147 Gold medals.

And in the Football event, the championship matches for grade school and high school went to Western Visayas and Central Visayas.

Central Visayas Regional Athletic Association (CVRAA) won the championship for the Grade school division and in the Secondary division, it was the Western Visayas Regional Athletic Association who took the spotlight.

This one will be a long read:

And just when I was about to wrap up my weekend, coming from my son's training with GAU, J, another former student of mine who has worked professionally with a football club from the north, that something's happening, something is coming out.

What?

Then I followed up with J, and all he said was "Yes Mr Francis, it's really happening..."

But the next few public statements made were hopeful.

Let's see what happens next.

As for me, I'll be glad to see football played in the youth section, in the scholastic level. If it must be, then let the collegiate football show us first how exciting this beautiful game can be.

Danke!

Scenes from YFL U15 and U17 Games

I was early at the Alabang Country Club today to get a glimpse of the U15 and U17 games of the Speed Regalo Padala Youth Football League 2019. The games for these two age groups are much more tactical, the players, more skilled compared to the younger age groups.

My Favorite Place on a Sunday Morning

Since there was nothing much to do but be excited knowing I could be seeing the future National Team Players, I walked around and look at what I saw:

The sun was up, the kids were ready and so I continued and watched a bit of a goal keeping drill:

And here are the photos from the FB Page of YFL:

Official results of today's games will come from the YFL Page. I'll be processing some of the videos I took in the next few days.

Meanwhile, we will have the 13th Cavite Football Association Cup report next. Hang on!

Training Weekend 1: Snaps, Videos & Animations

I had a chance take some photos last weekend during the training and I'm sharing it here. By the way, CFA is maintaining three (3) teams with the following age-groups: Under 15, Under 13 and Under 11.

Did you know that these lucky football players are considered scholars of the Provincial Government of Cavite?

CFA a.k.a. Governor Jonvic Remulla Jr Football Academy provides these hardworking and talented footballers the following:
  • Year-round football training
  • Participation in several PFF-sanctioned tournaments, invitationals and CFA-sponsored events
  • Transportation services for training and tournament activities
  • Football kits
  • Monthly rice allowance
One important requirement for a player to qualify to the program is one must be a resident of the province.

I created a collage of the photos here:

And for those who wishes to have these photos saved per frame, it's right here:

"A photo opp before I get back to keeping"

(The big boys of CFA)

View from the upper deck wink! wink!

"Ready for the test!"

"C'mon coach!"

"And that's how the Grinch stole Christmas eve!"

"We're listening, at least we look like we are!"

"I'm wearing stripes while you all aren't!

"Those who didn't get a visit from Santa, please go to my right and for those who did, you may go now"
And an animation I made from one of the features of Google photos App:

Second Part of Try-outs for 2019 CFA Teams

On January 5, 2019, Saturday at PCU-Dasmarinas Football Field, Cavite Football Academy will have its second day of try-out and player evaluation for current players. The first part of the try outs happened last month, December 22 and on the side, we had our Christmas party.

Some snaps I grabbed from our private FB chat group. Thanks to everyone for the photos and chit-chats. With lots of photos to choose from, here's my pathetic attempt at summing up our CFA Christmas Party using Spark Adobe.

For more photos, videos and updates, you can also visit and follow my personal FB Page at Creative Interventions.
